Hair Loss and Hair Breakage Problems
by Poonam

I am 42 years old working woman. I have been doing root touch up for many years to cover my gray hair. Previously, like 1 or 2 years ago I did ironing at home and ruined my hair. I suffered a lot of hair loss and did undergo ayurvedic treatment to stop hair loss. It did benefit me and my hair stopped falling.
But after 2 months my hair again started falling and I think breaking also after I used an herbal hair mask. Now again I see lot of fallen hair here and there, hair in my hair band. I am not sure whether it is hair breakage or hair loss in particular.
Earlier my hair texture was quite good and I had a head full of thick, healthy and somewhat straight hair. My main concern is to stop hair fall. Please advise. I use Loreal or Revlon hair colour and a good quality shampoo and conditioner afterward.

The first thing that comes to mind is 'how are your stress levels'. Could stress be causing the hair loss?
You may also be lacking some kind of vitamin in your diet. You can find a list of vitamins that you need to ensure proper hair growth here:
Best Hair Vitamins for Thicker, Longer HairI have been a strong proponent for
B vitamins, especially for
hair growth. They are known as the 'beauty vitamins' and if you're not getting enough of them (supplies deplete as you age), then you need to supplement them. One of the most important hair growth vitamins is
Biotin.
Other things that can cause hair loss are autoimmune disorders like fibromyalgia and some intestinal disorders. You may want to seek out a doctors help with this if your hair hasn't stopped shedding or breaking off soon. You might also get another Ayurvedic treatment from the same person and tell them that the treatment worked for a while but started up again.
Also, have you looked at your scalp? Do you have any
bald spots?
You might also try using
argan oil (apply a small amount to wet hair and allow to dry) or
coconut oil to help strengthen your hair naturally. Stay away from herbal treatments for now but do use organic products that help maintain the health of your hair.
