Okay I just went to the hairdresser today, and they cut my hair way too short. And I was wondering how can you grow your hair quicker. And how many inches of my hair would grow in about a month? And if i were to put olive oil, what kind should i put? is it like normal olive oil for cooking?
Professional Hair Care Answer - That depends on how short your hair is.
I have been wearing my hair on top of my head in a ponytail at night while I'm sleeping for years and would swear that it grows faster this way. (I've been doing this for over 30 years.)
The logic behind this is that the hair follicles on the top of your head grow upward, not downwards. When you wear your hair UP, it has more opportunity to follow in natures own original design.
Of course that won't work if it's too short and you can't pull it up.
Massaging your scalp may help stimulate it into faster growth. Massage improves circulation which also stimulates your hair follicles. You'd have to commit to this everyday/every-other=day though.
Olive oil will help condition your hair but it won't help it grow faster. Sorry. And yes, you use regular olive oil and cover it with a cap overnight. Shampoo and condition as normal the next day.
Your own hair growth depends a lot on you. Heredity and your health both make a big difference. Hair grows around 1/2 an inch a month, but sometimes more depending on the person. You might not be able to do anything about your heredity but you can do something about your health. Can good health make your hair grow quicker? Many people think not but I'm not convinced that it doesn't help!
Vitamins that stimulate hair growth are vitamins B, A, and E. (Vitamin A is synonymous with Beta Carotene and B Vitamins are known as the 'beauty vitamins'.) You can get Vitamins for your hair in most retail stores. Vitamins can help stimulate your body and that might help your hair grow quicker a little bit.
Advice: I used to do the same thing...watch as the professional hair care expert cut too much hair and not speak up.
Do yourself a favor. Have a meaningful consultation with your hairdresser FIRST before she/he cuts your hair. Make sure they listen to your requests. Find a hairdresser that listens. A lot of the time hairdressers will cut your hair the way they want to instead of the way you want it cut. (don't know exactly why that is?)
If you find your hairdresser on the phone a lot, do yourself a favor and get up and leave and never come back. If enough people did this, less hairdresser would think that it's acceptable to talk on the phone while they're cutting YOUR hair!
This example is exactly why I went to Cosmetology school and became licensed. I was tired of no one listening to me and wanted to be one person who did.
Finding the right professional hair care technician might take some time but when you do, they will be a jewel and treat you like you are the customer and consider that what YOU want is most important~
