Gym Massage VS Getting a Massage in a Salon

While gym massage and salon massage are both great for mind and body, it's good advice to be super choosy about which setting you select. Both massages offer many advantages but are typically quite different experiences.

A gym massage VS getting a massage in a salon is like comparing apples to oranges. While they may seem to be similar, typically they're not.

Gym Massage

A gym massage can be a deep tissue massage or something like a HydroMassage at Chuze Fitness, and may be accompanied by a tanning package or some other treatment. This type of massage is meant to "unrestrict" your physical structure. A deep tissue massage is an intense type of massage that will loosen up your muscles but it can be a bit painful while you're getting it. However, it will enhance your flexibility and your muscles will feel more pliable afterward.

The setting of the gym may not be very aesthetically pleasing. After all, the massage is geared toward loosening up those muscles or getting you ready to go back out and train.

Salon Massage

A salon massage is geared toward relaxation. The setting is completely soothing and relaxing and the massage itself, takes more of a gentle approach. It's all about unwinding and resting at the salon. The environment is also very calming and most likely, there will be scented candles burning and some tranquil music playing in the background.

Different Results

A gym massage and a salon massage are two very different experiences. They are both very beneficial but have totally different purposes for different types of results. Gym massage can really get your muscles in shape after a strenuous routine or can prepare you for a great work out. A salon massage is all about chilling out; helping you reduce anxieties and stress.

Both types of massage can help you meet individual goals but one will not necessarily work to meet both goals. Before you partake in any massage activity, please let your massage therapist know if you have had any back injuries or are dealing with any soft tissue damage. This is extremely important information for your therapist to know, whichever type of massage you choose!
