Getting Flu Shots – Should You or Shouldn’t You?

Opinions about getting flu shots are varied, to put it mildly. However, it’s clear that most people base their views (good or bad) on past experiences. Some people that get yearly vaccinations never seem to have problems, while others get one and have major complications. So what’s up with that?

Well, for one thing, all people are unique in the sense that we’re all a formation of our own influences, experiences, environment, DNA, etc. No one’s completely the same as another person. Even identical twins have differences that get shaped over time. And those differences matter when it comes to vaccines!

I remember well being very sickly as a child. I seemed to catch everything I came in contact with! So it’s no surprise that when flu shots became available, I leapt onto the band-wagon. For the next couple of years I got vaccinated... and in those years, I kept catching the flu soon after getting the shot. That was my experience. On the other hand, there are lots of folks who never experience illnesses from getting vaccinated at all! Seems to be a mixed bag, that's for sure!

Below are some of the facts, questions, and answers about flu vaccines that you may have heard or be wondering about. Getting flu shots every year is a decision only you can make.

What Are the Ingredients in Flu Shots?

  • Aluminum phosphate: said to increase mercury toxicity
  • Human albumin: collected from pooled blood plasma may cause fever, chills, hives, rash, headache, nausea, breathing difficulty, and rapid heart rate
  • Bovine cow serum: extracted from cow skin; may cause connective tissue disorders, arthritis and lupus, shortness of breath, low blood pressure, chest pain and skin reactions
  • Egg proteins: may include avian contaminants
  • Sorbitol: synthetic sweetener which may aggravate gastrointestinal issues
  • Sodium chloride: raises blood pressure and inhibits muscle contraction and growth
  • Gelatin: known to cause allergic reactions and anaphylaxis in cases that are generally associated with sensitivity to egg or gelatin
  • Polysorbate 80 (Tween80™): can cause allergic reactions
  • Formaldehyde: known carcinogen and preservative
  • Triton X100: a strong surfactant (detergent)
  • Phenoxyethanol: an ether; may be highly toxic to the nervous system, kidneys, and liver. The FDA warns that it "can cause shut down of the central nervous system, and vomiting
  • Resin: may cause allergic reactions
  • Gentamycin: an antibiotic
  • Thimerosal: a form of mercury still used in multidose vaccines
  • MSG (monosodium glutamate): may cause disorders of the CNS and brain damage in children.

BIG PHARMA and the CDC both promise you that these ingredients are all used at safe levels. However, long term studies on these vaccinations are scanty and it is unknown if they might build up in the body.

Is Chemically Induced Immunity Better Than Naturally Acquired Immunity?

If you are one of those people that’s on the lazy side of protecting your health, then getting flu shots is probably your best bet for staying healthy over the winter months. However, if you like to take the bull by the horns and do the best you can to guard your health naturally, then you’ll probably forgo getting vaccinated. The choice is yours, unless your employer mandates it.

There are major differences between naturally-acquired immunity and vaccine-induced immunity... and science does confirm this. Natural immunity has many more benefits; something that’s often overlooked in the United States.

From birth, children are supposed to develop natural ways to fight microorganisms that they’re exposed to. This initiated immune response in the cells lining the intestines, airways, and skin, creates memory and protection against the microorganisms that they're exposed to. That primary line of defense stays with children the rest of their life and is a very important step in the maturation of immunity. However, its bypassed when the child gets a vaccine. (As a side note, its interesting to know that from birth to 12 months, babies in the US are given 26 vaccinations, which is twice as many as countries like Japan and Sweden.)

As most people understand, getting flu shots does not provide long term immunity. They do NOT have the memory that occurs naturally, when you build up antibodies to viruses within your own body. It’s also highly possible for you to hardly ever get sick, if your immune system if functioning normally, in a healthy way. Vaccines on the other hand, do not strengthen natural immunity. Instead, they weaken it.

    How Effective are Flu Shots?

Two factors play an important role in determining whether a flu vaccine will protect a person from flu illness: 1) the age and health of the person, and 2) the "match" between the flu viruses contained in the flu vaccine and the flu viruses spreading in the community.

During years when the vaccine is not well matched to circulating viruses, it’s possible that you won't get any benefit from the flu vaccination. During years when there is a good match, you should be able to prevent flu illness. However, even during years when the vaccine match is very good, the benefits of vaccination vary.

Most flu shots have a 50 - 60 percent efficacy, or in simple terms, it means you’re less than half as likely to get the flu if you’re vaccinated than if you’re not. "In fact, a CDC analysis of flu vaccine effectiveness for the past decade – from 2005 to 2015 - demonstrated that more than half the time, seasonal flu shots are less than 50 percent effective!" (Resource)

Sixty percent risk reduction does not mean that 60 percent of the population who's getting flu shots will prevent catching the flu. Most present studies indicate that getting flu shots are only moderately effective. According to Dr Russell Blaylock herd immunity just doesn't work and never did!

Are Flu Shots Designed to Control the Population?

Some people believe that the purpose of getting flu shots is to 'soft kill' the population. According to many sources including Natural News, Bill Gates openly admitted this fact... and went on to say that even those who administer vaccines have no idea they are actually engaged in the reduction of human population.

What are the Potential Side Effects of Getting Flu Shots

You may experience some tenderness or soreness in the area which the flu shot was administered. You may also get a mild headache. While it's true that you can't catch the flu from the vaccine, long term exposure is still relatively questionable and you may experience some form of injury.

A Washington Redskin cheerleader named Desiree Jennings, had a horrible experience after getting her flu shot. She said:

"On August 23, 2009, I received a seasonal flu vaccine at a local grocery store that drastically, and potentially irreversibly, altered my future. In a matter of a few short weeks I lost the ability to walk, talk normally, and focus on more than one stimuli at a time."

Her uncontrollable muscle spasms, (Dystonia) caused by vaccine toxicity, was confirmed by John Hopkins. She was eventually cured by Dr. Rashid Buttar, who used chelation and orthomolecular (massive supplementation) medicines to nurse her back to health after months of rehabilitation.

Her case got lots of immediate media attention and slanderous attacks from vaccine advocates. Sadly, her experience has not been the only flu vaccine injury reported.

Who Should NOT Get the Flu Vaccine?

    (According to the CDC)

  • Children younger than 6 months.

  • People with severe, life-threatening allergies to flu vaccine or any ingredient in the vaccine. This might include gelatin, antibiotics, or other ingredients.

  • Anyone with asthma might be at increased risk for wheezing after getting the nasal spray vaccine.

  • Anyone with a chronic condition like lung disease, heart disease, kidney or liver disorders, neurologic/neuromuscular, or metabolic disorders.

  • Anyone with autoimmune disorders.

  • Anyone whose had Guillain-Barré Syndrome.

  • Anyone that's not feeling well or has gotten other vaccines in the past 4 weeks.

You may still have questions about whether or not getting flu shots is a good idea for YOU or not. That's something you will have to do some soul searching to figure out! However, one thing is very clear. If you do get sick, please stay home from work and do not contaminate others you work with! That's just common sense.
