If you will just get busy you will get your mind off of food and you will lose weight! Your stomach will shrink and you will find that you will get full faster when you do eat! Take your focus off of food! Food is around us everywhere! Fast food at every corner, food in the store, food in the work place, everywhere is FOOD, FOOD, FOOD! We just can't escape it.
There is a price however, to be paid for this excess of food! The temptation to eat lurks in every dark corner. It stares us in the face in open markets! There is a good place to start in dealing with the overkill! If you get busy you will lose weight!
Critics might bash me for what else I am about to say, but so be it. Everyone has their own experiences with food and they are entitled to their opinions! (I am one of them, ya know?) Here is my thought!
Don’t eat ‘breakfast’ breakfast! (Yes, I meant to write it twice.)(No throwing rocks please!)
If you eat a big breakfast everyday, are you eating it because you are hungry or because it is habitual? Are you happy with your weight? This is an important part of understanding why you eat, how much you eat, and when you eat!
Yeah, I know....breakfast is the most important meal of the day.....blah, blah, blah! I'm not disputing that exactly. But does breakfast have to weigh you down or be first thing in the day? NOT!
Not eating 'breakfast breakfast' has worked for me over the years, so I think it can work for you too! People have become obsessed with food! It is this infatuation that has exacerbated Obesity. You can understand why if you will just get busy you will get your mind off of 'what food to eat next' and you will lose weight.
My mom used to 'force feed' me breakfast when I was growing up but I have always disliked eating first thing in the day. I was always ready to get to school, (get busy) and walk to the bus! (lose weight) However, food is vital and important to young children or children under the age of 18, if they're not overweight. Children should always eat a wholesome healthy breakfast, even if it's just a little something. Growing brains needs nutrition. Growing children NEED breakfast, but their choices should be good ones too.
Now that I'm older, water and coffee are my first thoughts in the morning. My next thought is to get my son ready for school! Shortly after he leaves on the school bus, I watch a bit of news, take my vitamins, get a shower and get ready for my workday.
Then I get busy working and I lose weight because I do!
Water should truly be your first concern in the morning. 'Start your engine' with water and get that 'full feeling' from drinking water and not from heavy foods that weigh you down.
If you eat something heavy first thing in the day, then you'll feel heavy and feel groggy all day. You can't get busy either if you are half asleep during the day!
Have a piece of toast, piece of fruit, yogurt, smoothie, oatmeal, bowl of cereal, or a breakfast bar! There are so many simple ways to start the day! EGGS are also a great way to give yourself lean protein first thing in the day. Protein and and fiber are great healthy foods are great ways to start any day!
If you wake up hungry each day, be sure to drink water first and then eat something. You won't eat as much this way because you are partially full from the water you've consumed.
Each day around 10am I am ready to eat an apple or some kind of fruit or light snack. Eat breakfast when you want to and make it something you love to eat that's healthy for you!
I will leave breakfast to all of you die hards who have to have it first thing in the day! I highly recommend that you make your breakfast a light one, then follow up with a light snack mid morning.
*Actually, they are now saying exactly what I've been telling folks for years. To lose weight, eat a healthy, light breakfast, a big lunch, (cause thats the time of day you are most likely to be most active), and eat a small, nutritional dinner.
It is so much better to feed your body small amounts of food at regular intervals, than large amounts of foods only a few times a day. Remember, as you age you should really listen to your body. You'll forget about food if you stimulate your brain as you get busy. There is always so much to do!
Just find something constructive to do! And just do it! Join a local charity group, volunteer in your community, take up a hobby, help a friend whose going through rough times, or spend time with your favorite pet!
When you listen to your body you'll find that you focus less on food all day too. Yep, there are temptations all over the place, but learn how to ignore those signals! If you give into them, then just eat small amounts at a time. Don't wolf any food you eat. Learn to enjoy the simple pleasures that a few bites can bring!
Try to pack a bag of plain or honey nut cheerios or a breakfast bar to take with you. Anything that has fiber or is low calorie is a good idea. Weighing yourself down with a heavy breakfast each day is a good way to make you sluggish all day.
Grabbing an apple to munch on is just as easy as grabbing a bag of muffins! If you have to stop and get that sausage biscuit from Hardees try eating only half of it for breakfast, then save the other half for mid morning.
Don't spend a lot of time thinking about food either but also try and be prepared too! Buy or make healthy snacks and breakfast foods to keep on hand when you shop. That way, you'll be more apt to grab something nutritional when you walk out the door!
Then Get Busy and You Will Lose Weight!
When you get busy you will get your mind off of food! Your stomach will shrink and you will find that you will get full faster when you do eat and you will lose weight!
*Note* – Young people need a good healthy breakfast to build healthy bodies, so children should not skip over it. I also don’t want to give the opinion that I don’t like food. I love food! I just keep it in proper perspective. I keep busy and keep my mind on other things! I just don’t focus on food all the time.
