Food is around us everywhere! Fast food at every corner, food in the store, food in the work place, everywhere is FOOD, FOOD, FOOD! We just can't escape it.

There is a price however, to be paid for this excess of intake! The temptation to eat lurks in every dark corner. It stares us in the face in open markets! There is a good place to start in dealing with the overkill! If you get busy living, you will lose weight! How to Get Busy and Lose Weight
Don't eat a big breakfast! If you eat a big breakfast everyday, are you eating it because you are hungry or because it is habitual? Are you happy with your weight? This is an important part of understanding why you eat, how much you eat, and when you eat! Yeah, I know....breakfast is the most important meal of the day.....blah, blah, blah! I'm not disputing that exactly. But does breakfast have to weigh you down or be first thing in the day? No, absolutely not! Too many people have become obsessed with food! It is this infatuation that has exacerbated obesity. You can understand why if you will just get busy you will get your mind off of 'what food to eat next', which in the long term, will help you lose the weight. My mom used to 'force feed' me breakfast when I was growing up but I have always disliked eating first thing in the morning. I was always ready to get to school, (get busy) and walk to the bus! (lose weight) Of course, food is vital and important to young children or for those under the age of 18, if they're not overweight. Children should always eat a wholesome healthy breakfast, even if it's just a little something. Growing brains need nutrition so growing children need breakfast, but their choices should be good ones too. New Studies Most adults have heard that breakfast was the most important meal of the day, all their lives. Its message has been repeated so many times, who would ever think that it’s a wrong assumption. However, newer studies are finally admitting that this might not be so! The study suggests that a big breakfast may actually result in weight gain, by adding extra calories to your daily intake. The study was done at the University of Munich, Germany. Research showed that people ate as much food at lunch and dinner, regardless of what they had for breakfast, according to the BBC. The study's main finding was that people who ate a big breakfast resulted in a total increase of about 400 additional calories over the course of the day. The only difference was that they tended to skip over a mid-morning snack but that wasn't enough to offset the extra calories they had already taken in. Those 400 extra calories per day would amount to an additional 41.7 pounds over the course of a year! These new findings don’t imply that you should skip over breakfast, just eat it when you’re hungry! You can always have breakfast foods later in the morning when you feel hunger pangs. Occasionally splurging on a large breakfast is perfectly fine, as long as you make it the exception, not the rule. Moderation is always key. Water should truly be your first concern in the morning. 'Start and rev your engine' with water and get that 'full feeling' from drinking water and not from heavy foods that weigh you down and/or have little nutritional value. If you eat heavy foods first thing in the day, you may feel groggy all day long. If a large breakfast affects you this way, why are you eating it? You can't get busy doing something constructive if you feel like going back to bed! Instead, eat breakfast foods as a mid morning snack. A piece of whole wheat toast, piece of fruit, low-fat yogurt, smoothie, oatmeal, bowl of cereal, power bar, protein shake, or a breakfast bar, are much better choices! There are so many simple ways to start the day! Eggs are also a great choice for lean protein. Protein and and fiber are great healthy food choices and a great way to start digestion! If you wake up hungry each day, be sure to drink water first and then eat something. You won't eat as much because you are partially full from the water you've consumed. If you don't get hungry first thing in the morning, eat an apple or some kind of fruit or light snack later. Eat breakfast when you want to and make it something you love to eat that's healthy for you! I will leave heavy breakfasts to all of you die-hards who have to have it first thing in the day! I highly recommend that you make your breakfast a light one, then follow up with a light snack mid morning. To lose weight, eat a healthy, light breakfast, a big lunch, (because that's the time of day you are most likely to be most active), and eat a small, nutritional dinner. It's also much better to feed your body small amounts of food at regular intervals, than large amounts of foods only a few times a day. As you age you should really listen to your body. You'll forget about food if you stimulate your brain as you get busy. There is always so much to do! Find something constructive to do, and just do it! If you don't have a job, join a local charity group, volunteer in your community, take up a hobby, exercise more, help a friend whose going through rough times, or spend time with your favorite pet! When you get busy living and listen to your body you'll find that you focus less on food. There are temptations all over the place, but learn how to ignore those signals! If you give into them, then just eat small amounts at a time. Its never a good idea to wolf down any foods you eat either. Learn to enjoy the simple pleasures that a few bites can bring! Don't spend a lot of time thinking about food either but also try and be prepared too! Buy or make healthy snacks and easy-to-reach-for breakfast foods to keep on hand when you shop. That way, you'll be more apt to grab something nutritional when you walk out the door! Get busy and you won't be bored! Pick up some courses at a local school or learn a new trade. You can always clean the house or work in the yard. People make weight loss too hard. Its easy if you keep your mind occupied on other things, you'll forget about the temptations around you.
