Former Chase Bank Customer
by Donald
(New york)
Speaking as a former Chase Bank Customer, Chase did the same thing to me on a credit card I'd had for 20 years. I have a credit score in the 800's and have never missed a payment in my entire life. I had this Chase Bank Card a 9.9 percent fixed rate for years and they quietly raised the rate to a variable 14. something percent. I complained and they told me if I could find a better rate go ahead and take it.
Well to make a long story short I signed up for a 7.9 percent fixed rate visa card at my local credit union. For all of you who are getting gouged by the big banks, go to a local credit union and compare the .APR rate. The credit unions blow away the big banks.

Wow! That's horrible that Chase Bank treated you that way but what you said is very good advice. I hadn't thought of going to a credit union. I don't know how Chase Bank is going to keep in business at this rate! The more people that find these negative stories about Chase bank, the better! Everyone should choose NOT to enter into any credit agreements with Chase Bank. Its obvious they don't give a flipping hoot about their customers!
We have options and the more people know about their unfair practices, the better! This bank needs one big, fat lesson in how to treat customers. Without them, banks are useless.
(BTW, I had the same thing happen to me at a car dealership back when the economy was good. I was going to buy a vehicle from Chevrolet and thought that their price was too high. When they wouldn't back down on the price, I told them I'd take my business elsewhere. The salesman laughed at me and told me to 'go right ahead' and said that they didn't need my business anyway. I left and bought a Ford instead. The Ford dealership was appalled at what I told them about the Chevrolet dealership and they treated me like the Queen I expected to be treated like!)
