Fluoroquinolones – A Harmful Class of Antibiotics You Should Think Twice About Taking
Fluoroquinolones have a history of harmful and long term side effects that no one would want to experience. Big Pharma says they're perfectly safe so doctors continue to prescribe them even for minor infections. But that's not what they were meant to treat! The fact is that they can change your life forever even in small doses!
FLQ’s should be avoided unless your very life depends on it. There are serious side effects that warrant further investigation.
Despite of these dangers, these antibiotics are the MOST commonly prescribed antibiotic on the market in the US. In 2010, Bayer’s two top FLQ’s (Cipro and Avelox) brought in $1 billion in sales and Johnson and Johnson made $1.3 billion on their premiere FLQ Levaquin that same year.
No other antibiotic on the market carries such a high potential to cause permanent damage. Always ask your own doctor for other safer alternatives like amoxicillin and many others as well! Or if you're like me, take the natural route and pulse dose Lugols 5% Iodine
or try the master tonic
the master tonic!
Most victims of FLQ's (called Floxies) are not warned about the potential risks. This is why you must constantly question what you’re being given by your doctor. Do NOT expect the pharmaceutical industry to be honest with you. They are only concerned with making money. You have to DIG to find the truth but it’s out there!
Dangerous Ingredients in Fluoroquinolones
The most deadly ingredient in FLQ’s are just as you might expect: fluoride
. In fact, it’s a central part of the drug. Fluoride is a known neurotoxin which can in essence attach a fluoride molecule to cells that are able to penetrate deep in the tissues. Fluoride can also penetrate the blood-brain barrier and disrupt collagen synthesis. It can damage immunity
by depleting energy and inhibiting antibody formation.
According to Todd R Plumb – an MD and fluoroquinolone victim, there are four possible mechanisms (according to his research) caused by FLQ’s. They are:
Inhibition or disruption of the central nervous system GABA receptors.
Depletion of magnesium and disruption of cellular enzyme function.
Disruption of mitochondrial function and energy production.
Oxidative injury and cellular death.
Stephen Fried, author of the book Bitter Pills: Inside the Hazardous World of Legal Drugs (published in 1998), features three victims whose lives have been shattered by the long-term health effects of fluoroquinolones. Placing the blame squarely on the drug maker, one of them says:
"[These side effects are] not something they're just finding out now. These people are criminals. They belong in prison for the rest of their lives."
Fried used the word “Floxed” to describe what happened to his wife Diane after she took a fluoroquinolone for a minor urinary tract infection. After just one pill his wife had trouble talking, became disoriented and began hallucinating. She suffered serious neurological side effects that persisted for years.
Over the last 20 years quinolone antibiotics have been prescribed to millions.
List of Common Fluoroquinolones on the Market
It’s no secret that American’s have a love affair with antibiotics. After all, they allow you to keep your job and are a quick fix for most infections. But there may be dark and ominous consequences if you happen to be one of the thousands of people who experience complications from taking them.
Even with the many complaints filed to the FDA, it took decades until they acknowledged a problem. In 2013, the FDA warned doctors that FLQ’s could cause irreversible nerve damage during treatment – and even after just one dose.

And even though death is NOT listed, it CAN happen and DID happen to Chris Dannelly and possibly others.
The above is a picture of Chris Dannelly and it speaks volumes. Chris was at the prime of his life and the peak of his fitness when he took levofloxacin, a fluoroquinolone. After taking just two pills of levofloxacin, Chris suffered a toxic reaction (rhabdomyolysis) that took his life. He was not only an avid athlete, he was a loving husband and a father of two young children. (Resource).
Of course, that’s not going to stop people from taking them... especially if they’ve taken them before with no deleterious side effects.
However, as humans we must never forget. Our bodies change as we age. What we used to be able to tolerate in our youth, may become a problem as an aging adult. Furthermore, there has been no large scale research on what creates the problem in the first place. I think the simple fact that fluoroquinolones contain fluoride is the smoking gun. Without fluoride present, maybe the drug wouldn’t be so dangerous. But that’s simply conjecture on my part...
