Have you ever tried a chemical facial skin peel treatment? If not, you’re missing out! Chemical skin peels are the fastest and most reliable way to reverse the signs of time! Not only will your skin look great, it will look smoother, tighter, and younger than it has in years.
There are many chemical peels on the market which utilize various acids you've heard of. You can find glycolic, fruit, salicylic, and lactic acid peels just about anywhere. The best anti aging skin peel treatment is called Trichloroacetic Acid, nicknamed TCA for short. Previously, the only way you could get one of these treatments was to go to your local dermatologist office. They were the only people who could administer the chemical peel and they were very expensive! TCA treatments are like an AHA (alpha hydroxy acid) on steroids!
When you get a chemical peel, you cannot go out into the sun during or after the peel for a few weeks. For this reason, always do peels in the fall, winter, or spring, if you go out in the sun regularly in the summer. Some dermatologists will make you promise not to, before they will administer treatment to you. This might seem old school, but you really do have to be careful if you want the treatment to work successfully! Your skin will either peel a little or a lot, depending on the strength of the peel, and how long it's left on your skin.
Now, you can buy the very same chemical peels online. I was shocked! How awesome is that! You should read the directions very closely and understand the process first, before you attempt to give yourself one. Any chemical facial skin peel has to be administered with careful planning however, look at all of the benefits they have! They are worth their weight in gold!
Here is a list of skin conditions that most chemical peels can help!

Chemical facial skin peel treatments help illuminate and brighten, blotchy, dull skin!
What is Trichloroacetic Acid?
Trichloroacetic Acid (TCA) seems to be the cream of the crop. It is the very best known acid treatment on the market. What is TCA?
TCA is a well-known chemical acid which has been used for years by Dermatologists and Surgeons to improve the texture of your skin by removing the damaged outer layers and revealing the new smooth skin underneath. TCA works by penetrating deep down into those hard to reach areas that bacteria and other impurities form and collect.
TCA is a strong acid, so it will destroy all the bacteria responsible for acne, thoroughly clean out clogged pores, and allow for the new skin to develop on the surface after peeling away the old dead skin layers. TCA is the most effective peeling agent with many anti-aging properties, and has long been the secret to restoring youth and beauty!!! TCA works wonders for sun-damaged skin, aged skin, freckles, wrinkles, fine lines, scars, tattoos, and much more.
This facial skin peel does so much! Of course, they aren't for everyone! There are many other slightly weaker acids on the market, so it's easy to find one to suit your needs. Dilution makes the facial skin peel products so versatile. If one solution is too strong, then dilute it and make it weaker. Always, always follow manufacturer's direction for use!
You Skin Type
Anyone with sensitive skin should always start out using the weakest solution, as should those with normal-dry skin. These skin types should never use a stronger solution. People with normal and/or normal-oily skin can use stronger solutions, but they too, should always start out using the weakest solution.
Before you start a peel, you may also want to use a good AHA lotion a few nights (off and on) for a week, to get your skin ready for the peel.
Instructions
As it is with any facial skin peel, you do need to know some basics about them and how they work. Don't use one the day before you do one though. You will need a timer, mirror, cotton balls, small amount of purified water, the chemical peel, (some have to be diluted before use, so read and follow directions carefully!), rubbing alcohol, lotion, (*optional - cold aloe gel), sunblock.
This process should be done in the bathroom with good lighting and a good mirror. You must time this out and watch your skin very carefully!
General Chemical Peel Directions
1) Be sure to start with a clean face. Remove any makeup and wash your face with warm soapy water. Remove dirt or makeup residue with a toner or alcohol if you like. Allow your skin to thoroughly dry.
2) Always start off peels using a 25% solution the first few times you do one. Build up to 30%, and then 50%. 50% is as high a percentage as you should ever use! (They do make a 70% solution of glycolic acid but these are for seasoned peeler's and are usually diluted before use. 50% is the highest TCA peel offered.) NEVER start with a 50% peel!
3) Follow the manufacturers directions. Most suggest to apply a few droppers of the acid on a cotton ball to saturate, but not oversaturate. You don't want the cotton ball dripping wet.
4) Rub the solution on your face, AVOIDING your eyes and mouth. Do this just as you would when you use a toner. It's fine to go over, under, and around your eyes and mouth, but don't get too close. Afterall, this is acid you are using!
You can also target certain places (wrinkles and acne) if you want instead, instead of applying the solution all over your face. While you're at it, use some on your neck and the back of your hands.
5) Set your timer on one minute.
6) Watch! Watch your skin. Once it starts turning whitish, or after one to two minutes, (whichever happens first), prepare to stop the action of the solution.
7) Apply some rubbing alcohol on a cotton ball and wipe it all over your face and neck, and wherever you applied the acid. Rubbing alcohol neutralizes the action of the facial skin peel solution. Some directions advise you to simply rinse your face with cold water, however using alcohol helps to change back the pH of your skin and cool it down. If you don't want to use alcohol, you can also use a skin toner. If you don't neutralize it, your skin might feel irritated, uncomfortable, or even burned.
If the alcohol makes your skin burn more, (which it shouldn't but some people have very sensitive skin), then cool it down with cold water immediately and/or reach for some cold aloe vera gel.
Allow your skin to dry thoroughly. Apply a layer of (recommend Vitamin E) lotion and/or cold aloe vera gel. Apply a sunblock once the lotion has absorbed if you plan to be out in the sun.
*(You can also buy pH neutralizers if you like. There are good reviews about them, however, with alcohol, toner, cold water, or aloe gel, they aren't really necessary.)
Your face should look 'flush' almost immediately after the peel. It will stay red for a few hours or possibly even till the next day. In a few days, depending on the strength you used, your skin will start a fine peel. It's like getting a mild sunburn or using an AHA lotion. Your skin will start to slough off the skin that was exposed to the acid. For best results, always, always follow manufacturer's direction for use!
Are chemical facial skin peel treatments dangerous? Sure they are, if you don't follow directions or they're used incorrectly! Do not get these too close to your eyes, nose, or mouth. In time, your skin will slough the rest of the dead skin off your face. In a few days, your skin will be smoother and tighter than it's been in years! That's a fact!
Have I ever had one? Sure I have, in years past. That's how I know so much about them. In fact, I've just ordered a 50% TCA treatment! and can't wait to use one at home this time! Chemical peels are like getting a face lift without the cost or the hassle. (And I'll be doing a youtube video live when I do!)
Other Things to Consider:
*After your skin starts to peel, you may not be able to wear makeup for a few days. This is another downside. However, if you always opt for weaker peels, you shouldn't have any problems with it.
*Do not attempt to do more than one peel a month. Your skin will need recovery time to heal in between peels.
*To save money, buy the stronger solutions and just dilute them down to the solution you need. If you want a 25% solution, buy 50% and dilute it half and half.
*If you use a stronger solution, you will get a full facial peel! Be prepared to stay home for a few days! You really won't want to go out into public! If hanging out at home a few days is not an option, stick to the weaker solutions only.
*Do not try or attempt to peel your skin off on purpose. Let it peel naturally. Picking or pulling on the peeling skin may leave scars. You are trying to get rid of them, not create them!
*Apply the solution to the back of your hands too! If your hands are showing the signs of time, peels will help your hands look fresh and renewed also!
*You can adjust timing on facial skin peels if you have previously built up to it. Just follow manufacturer's directions and you should be fine.
*Be careful and do not administer this product to younger children. These chemicals are just way too strong!
Where Can You Buy Them?
I've only seen a select few places online that you can get chemical facial skin peel treatments. You sure can't find them at your local grocery or superstore. They aren't there. Amazon.com is the absolute least expensive place to get them legally. Here are a few of the products they offer!
