Your Facial Shape and Your Hair Style
What is your facial shape? Do you know how to determine what it is? You can learn a lot just by knowing whether your face is round, oval, square, oblong, diamond, or heart shaped.
If you have an oval face, you were born lucky! Oval shaped faces are the easiest to work with. The oval face shape is considered the ideal facial shape because it's perfectly balanced in form. Everything looks good on you! (well, just about everything!) Elizabeth Hurley and Jessica Biel have an oval shaped face.
The shape of your face is very important when you want to find the right hairstyle or to know how to hide subtle imperfections using the right makeup. Whatever your facial shape you can find the right style and makeup that’s suited just for you!
Knowing your face shape is a good starting point, it is also good to know your hair pattern, (straight, wavy, curly, combination), texture, (thick, thin, medium), your body shape, your age, your lifestyle, and any facial features you may wish to highlight or minimize.
When dealing with the problem features of your facial shape keep in mind that you may be the only one that considers them to be a ‘problem’.
Instead of focusing
on your imperfections, focus your attention on your best features.

You might find the perfect hairstyle for your face shape but if that style is not compatible with your hair's texture, it might not work well for you. Your hair might not cooperate! Try to find styles that are perfect for your face AND work well with your hair type! You’ll just need to first know what your facial shape is though! Thats the first step! Figuring out the shape of your face could be very confusing but there are some tips that will lead you in the right direction. You could figure out your own facial shape by taking a photo of your face, (with your hair tied back), then uploading it to your computer, printing it out, and tracing your facial outline. (WHEW!) The outline will reveal your face shape. You could do that OR you could just use the handy tool below! Just follow the easy directions. BAM! Done!
