Homemade Facial Scrubs – Take the 30 Day Challenge!

Facial scrubs work so well on your skin over time!

If you haven’t tried one lately, your skin may not be all that it can be!

When scrubs are used regularly, they can dramatically improve your skin! Even though they’ve been around for years, when is the last time you used one consistently?

The Benefits of Facial Scrubs

When you gently scrub your skin, you remove all kinds of dirt, oils, and bacteria that have collected on your skin. You also exfoliate dead skin cells that build up on the surface and get rid of blackheads, whiteheads, and zits before they even happen. Moreover, they also help to take off makeup, moisturize your skin, and tighten your skin!

How to Make Facial Scrubs

If you want to make your own facial scrubs, you can make homemade scrubs from lots of different things you already have on hand. You only need:

Base Ingredients: Salt or sugar, baking soda, finely ground cornmeal, oatmeal, or unscented kitty litter are great for the scrubbing part of the mixture.

Mixers: Mix any of the above base ingredients with olive oil, coconut oil,
argan oil, water, milk, lemon juice, honey, yogurt, or apple cider vinegar to make a paste. You can combine as much of or as many ingredients as you want but basic ingredients work just as well. The more you make, of course, the more you'll get. You can leave them at room temps or refrigerate leftovers to use again.

Then get scrubbing!

Of course, you can also buy them too, just for the convenience. St. Ives Apricot Scrub is one of my all time favorites but some people don’t like it because it has ground walnut shells in it as a base. It works fantastic for my oily, acne prone skin and I’ve never had a problem with the finely ground walnut shells.

Here’s why.

You only use extra pressure on the bony protrusions on your face, which are your forehead, chin, nose, and cheekbones. These areas can take a little more pressure and most are more prone to blackheads and whiteheads, which can turn into full blown pimples if you don’t get rid of them.

All the other skin on your face (mouth, eyes, and soft areas of the cheeks) must be treated gingerly. On these areas, apply the scrub with gentle, small circular motions with your fingertips.

Remember, the skin on your face is thinner than other areas of your body, so you don’t want to damage it. Base ingredients do a great job of getting deep down into the epidermis to eliminate the things that cause pimples. (dirts, oils, bacteria)

Of course, if you have dry or sensitive skin, you must be more careful about the ingredients you use on your face but there are scrubs on the market for every skin type. For most people, buying a facial scrub is just easier and they're totally dirt cheap.

So here’s the deal.

Take the 30 Day Facial Scrub Challenge

No matter whether you buy your scrubs or make your own at home, you should really try one for 30 days, without fail. I had a tube of facial scrub in the shower but forgot all about it. One of my best friends told me recently that she’d been using one everyday and noticed a big improvement in her skin, so I had to try it again too. Boy what a huge difference. No pimples at all! My face is clearer than it’s been in years, looks totally luminous, and feels soft as a baby’s bottom.

So now it's your turn! Can you commit to using a scrub everyday for at least 30 days? If you do, I promise that you'll be pleasantly surprised at how great your skin looks after such a short time. In a tough economy, everyone could use a boost; and fresh, clear skin is a fantastic reward!

Facial scrubs have been around a long time but many people forget about using them. They're an inexpensive way to improve your skin, by promoting new cell growth. You should notice a visible difference in your skin in as little as a few days to a week. In 30 days, your skin should be glowing with new vitality!
