You can correct the shape of your eyes quickly and easily by using makeup to transform your eye shape. The color and placing of eye makeup can help change any eye shape. Eye makeup has been used for centuries to help open up small eyes and downplay larger eyes. In this instance, it’s not who ya know, it’s what ya know! There is no one fix to create beautifully balanced eyes. You have to work with what you've got! Careful and artful makeup application should be used when you want to convert your eye shape! If you haven’t complained about the shape of your eyes, you’ve probably know someone who has. No one ever seems satisfied with what they get! They’re either too this, too that, or a little bit of too this and too that! If you’re looking for some optical-illusionish ideas, try these ideas! Corrective Eye Makeup TipsSmall Eyes What You’ll Need: Small eyes need help looking larger. You can open them up and enlarge them by enhancing eyebrows using a colored eyebrow pencil. Use brown pencils if you have fair skin and black pencils if you have dark skin. This really opens up your eyes. Then use soft colors like a pale pink shadow over the entire eyelid, up to the brow. Then outline your eyes with a darker color like a brown shadow. Apply your brown shadow following your lash line, both above and below your eye. Be sure to apply it from the inner corner of the eye to the outside corner. In other words, circle it around your eyes! Smudge the shadow under your eyes just a bit. Use a black eyeliner above the lash line and finish by using a black mascara on both top and bottom lashes. Use these eye makeup tips to open up your eyes! Round Eyes What You’ll Need: To correct round eyes, you need your makeup to help elongate them and make them appear wider. To do this, use a pale shadow over the entire upper lid, up to the brow and then line it under the lower lash line. Apply a darker shade (in the same color) over the upper lid only, to the crease. Apply black eyeliner along the upper lash line only, making the line thinner towards the inner eye to thicker at the outer eye. Extend it slightly beyond the outer eye. Sweep black mascara on top lashes only. Apply several coats. These eye makeup tips are fantastic for elongating round eyes.
Deep Set Eyes What You’ll Need: Deep set eyes, need to be brought forward. To start, enhance them by shaping eyebrows. Soften them with a brown eyebrow pencil. Apply a shimmering eyeshadow color over the entire lid, up to the brow. Apply a medium shade (brown) shadow along the crease of the eye only. Apply your darker shadow color along the top and bottom lash lines. Finish with black mascara on top lashes only. These eye makeup tips will help draw out your eyes and make them pop, so they don’t seem so deep set. Asian Eyes What You’ll Need: To define Asian eyes, softly arch your eyebrows. Fill in any gaps with your eyebrow pencil. Apply a light (white) color eyeshadow over your entire lid, up to your brows. Apply your darker (gray) shadow along the crease of your lids only, from inner to outer eye. Sweep darker contrasting eyeshadow shade (blue) along top and bottom lash lines. Finish with cobalt blue mascara on top lashes only. Use these eye makeup tips to open up Asian eyes! Heavy Brows What You’ll Need: To balance heavy brows, you’ll need to first brush them, then shape them. Remove stray eyebrow hairs by plucking them out of the way. Apply a shimmering shadow over the entire eye area, up to the brow, then apply your white shadow around the inner corner of your eyes. Apply your darker shade (violet) around the outer corner of your eyes, extending slightly beyond lash lines and underneath your lower lash line to accent your outer eyes. Do not connect the darker outer shadow with your lighter inner shadow. Darker colors should not follow along the entire lash line, but instead only be placed only around the outer eyes. Line bottom lashes with black pencil liner and use liquid liner along upper lashes. Finish by applying black mascara on top and bottom lashes. These eye makeup tips will offset heavy brows by drawing attention to your eyes instead. Use these eye makeup tips to correct your facial flaws.
