Eliminate Yellow Blonde Color
I bleached my hair recently and it came out really light on the top, too light for me. It looks like a fake yellow color. I heard that I was supposed to dye it with a regular blonde color afterward to get to the blonde color and take out the fake yellow.
I was thinking about applying a light brown color to tone it down. I just don't have the money to go to a stylist, so how can I fix this at home?

Before you color your hair with any color, it would be best to eliminate the yellow blonde color.
Yes, you can use another blonde color to do that. My best suggestion is to use a very light blonde color or a Platinum blonde color but only apply it to the yellow areas. Your color should be uniform before you apply a darker color on top of it to tone it down. If you applied a light brown color to your yellow blonde hair, you'd get a light yellow brown color in those areas. In other words, it wouldn't be a golden color as we think about them and might look pretty gross!
Word of caution! Use a
protein conditioner on your bleached hair (all of it) after you've fixed the yellow color! If you don't, any darker color you apply to your hair will turn out much darker than you intended.
If you want the end result to be a light brown color, you might try a dark blonde color instead. On bleached hair, any darker color applied to your hair can end up being a color shade darker than the color you choose.
