Dry Hair Relief
How do you keep your hair smooth and soft, but not dry?

Well, that's a great question. In the winter months when the air is dry and devoid of humidity, dry hair can be a real problem especially.
If you find your hair is looking and feeling dry, your hair maybe affected by the base surfactants found in shampoos. These are typically listed as sodium lauryl sulfate and sodium laureth sulfate and can be very drying over time. Sometimes simply switching to organic hair products will do the trick. Most of the time, they do not contain these harsh chemicals.
Here are a few more tips for dry hair relief:
Don't shampoo too often. This allows the natural oils from your hair to help condition and moisturize it.
Change shampoos often. One of the best ways to keep product build up from being a problem is to not always use the same products. Product build up, (especially gels and mousse which contain alcohol), can dry out your hair over time.
Don't overuse hair products. If you use them often, be sure to do a clarifying hair treatment every now and then. You can do an apple cider vinegar rinse or use clarifying shampoos like Tea Tree oil and Jojoba oil shampoos.

Apply leave in conditioners to your hair ends and mid hair shaft regularly.
Do deep conditioning treatments regularly. (At least twice a month during the winter.) My favorite is Henna N Placenta but there are lots of other great deep conditioners on the market.
Here's a great tip!
When you shampoo and condition your hair in the shower, don't rinse out the conditioner. Wrap your hair in a towel when you get out of the shower and leave it in for an hour or so, then rinse it out afterward. Don't entirely rinse out conditioners either. Your hair should feel squeaky clean after you shampoo but not after you condition it.
This also helps prevent tangles and knots.
Use smoothing shampoos and smoothing conditioners regularly. These help lay down the hair cuticle, which makes your hair look and feel much softer.
Use finishing cremes on your hair which also help lay down the hair cuticle.
Some women swear by using coconut oil on their hair and skin. Try some. Its cheap and according to many women, works extremely well at restoring moisture.
Moroccan hair oil also rocks! A bit more expensive to buy but a little goes a very long way!
Hope these help!
