Dry and Brittle Hair Ends

My hair is dry and brittle especially on the ends from overuse of protein treatments. I am tired of spending money on all the wrong products. Can you suggest a line to make my hair sleek and smooth once again? What about a Pureology line? Thank you so much. Penny

Protein treatments by themselves are great if you don't overuse them. I always suggest however, that you use protein treatments with conditioners to prevent this problem from happening in the first place.

Organic hair products are a great way to help restore lost moisture in your hair because they don't contain drying hair ingredients, like alcohol. Pureology is a fantastic brand, but so is Matrix Biolage, Avedo, Lamas, Jonathan, and so many others. All of these organic brands work well. The trick for you is to find the products that work best with your hair type. Pureology products are certainly a great place to start!

Other things you can do to remedy your dry ends, is to target them with deep moisturizing conditioners or conditioning masks. Apply them at night, cover with a cap and rinse out in the morning.

*If your hair ends are breaking off, it might be a good time to trim your hair.

Once your hair is properly moisturized, try using argan oil or coconut oil. Both are great at protecting your hair from the elements and help lock moisture in your hair. Just a little dab will do!
