Dark Roots and Lighter Ends
My roots are a dark brown and the rest of my hair is a light medium brassy brown. I just bought L'oreal Excellence Creme Hair Color in rich Burgundy Auburn and was wondering how I would get an even color if my hair is two colors? I know L'oreal has a product that removes hair colour.
Would that really work and where do I start to apply the color first; the roots or ends? Also how long would I leave the color on each? Thank you!

That's hard to say because you didn't tell me if your darker roots were your natural hair growth or if they have been colored too.
Also, any auburn/burgandy color, is going to be very hard to remove once you apply it to your hair. I hope you'll want the color for a long time. The only way to remove them successfully, in most cases), is to use
color removers, which can be very harsh on your hair and possibly damage it.
If you're dead bent on using this color, then apply the color to the lighter color first, (to darken it up) then to your roots when you have about 10 to 15 minutes of processing time left.
That's my best advice without knowing more details.
