Cosmetic make up colors for people with dark hair are bold and strong. People with dark hair and eyes should also use colors that blend well with their skin tone. If you have dark hair your color choices will be bright and deep.
There are different looks you can create with makeup that depend on your hair color. You can create different effects using different makeup colors. Different colors of makeup can create either a sizzling look or a moody look. You can create very different appearances just by using the right color makeup.

Sizzling Oranges for a Bold Look
What You’ll Need
Pearly gold eyeshadow, orange eyeshadow, burnt orange eyeshadow, burgandy or brown eyeshadow. If you can't find an orange shadow, try peach eyeshadow instead.
After applying foundation brush the brown bronzer. Brush the entire eye from lash to brow with gold eyeshadow and blend apply orange eyeshadow to the lid only. Apply the burnt orange eyeshadow along the socket line and the burgandy shadow along the lash lines. (top and bottom lashes) Outline the lips with the dark terra cotta liner and brush bronze or copper lipstick on the lips.
The Look
The blend of orange eyeshadow’s create a fresh, flirty, fun look for an upbeat style. Bright eyeshadows are complimented by a softer orange color on the lips. Finish the look with black mascara and a deep burgandy nail polish, try OPI nail polish!
Pale terra cotta lipstick, or reddish brown lipstick.
Application
After applying foundation, brush on light pink blusher. Cover the entire eye area, (from lash to brow), with the pearly blue eyeshadow. Brush the bright blue eyeshadow on the lid and along the lower lashes into the inner corner of the eye. Outline the lips with the soft brown lip liner, then brush the pale terra cotta lipstick on the lips and add a touch of brown lipstick over it.
The Look
A cool sophisticated color scheme based on the combination of soft and bright colors. Pouty pale terra cotta lips with a hint of brown add to the dramtatic and mysterious effect. Apply a black mascara and a deep pearly teal nail polish for a finished look.
Cosmetic make up application can be challenging. Use your imagination and combine similar colors together for bright, bold looks. You can create different looks that match your dark skin tone and hair color.

* Women who have dark hair and dark eyes, can accentuate their look by using black or dark brown mascara, liner, and eyeshadow. Smokey eyes look really good on those with dark features.
* When you experiment with different colors, you shouldn't spend a lot of money on them if you're not sure how they'll look. Buy inexpensive brands first, to try them. One of the best places to get great deals is e.l.f. cosmetics. They've got so many products to choose from and they're all only $1. Where else can you buy 20 different items for $20? Not many! Especially not for cosmetics! Go into Belks or Macys and $20 won't buy even one item!
For smokey eyes, use a white and dark gray (or black) eyeshadows. You can buy blends that have a nice blend altogether in one product. Look for smokey eyeshadow selections here!. Apply the base color over the entire eyelid and then apply the dark shadow in the crease of the eyelid and apply the white shadow in the inner corner of the eye. Blend it gently into the dark color with your shadow brush. It will really make your eyes pop out! If you don't like the stark black shadow, calm it down by using your brush to apply a gray color on top of the black. Or you can simply use the white over the black shadow and then blend it well to make a dark gray color from scratch. (black + white = gray)
Use lots of dark mascara and liner too! Your eyes will be mysterious and alluring. Accentuate your dark eyes, by using a strong red or burnt red lipstick. You'll stand out in a crowd!
* Since I'm a seasoned hairdresser, I know that one of the easiest ways to change things up a bit, is to add some highlights or lowlights to your dark hair for contrast. Blend in a few strands of lighter colors around your face to brighten your eyes and make your hair look shinier. To see this look, see the picture above.
