Coloring Rebonded Hair

My hair is rebonded, so is it safe to color my hair with Revlon hair dye from a box that they just sell in Target?
The Revlon hair dye is ammonia free. My friend had her hair rebonded too and has been dying her hair with the Revlon dye and her hair doesn't look damage yet. I'm just not sure if its going to damage my hair? What do you think?

There are conflicting results using dye on rebonded hair. To be safe, do a strand test first.
Strand TestBuy the color and only mix up a very small amount first. (For example, one teaspoon color mixed with one teaspoon of peroxide.) Apply it to a small strand of hair that's underneath by pinning up the top layers of your hair. Let the color process and then rinse it out. You should be able to tell if it's going to work or not by the results you get from the strand test.
The problem with coloring rebonded hair is that different salon's use different brands and have different technician's/stylists that do the process. These things really do matter with coloring rebonded hair safely.
The other thing you might do is to call the salon that rebonded your hair and ask them if it's safe. Most of them should give you a straight answer. Good luck!
