Color Over Black Hair

(Pakistan)

I want to dye my hair from black to dark red or very dark purple/violet. I want it to be permanent and stay for a long time. Here are some pics to give you an idea of what I want.

Auburn/Copper Hair Color or Dark Purple Hair Color

My skin is KIND OF fair but not VERY fair. I have a typical Indian kind of skin tone. Here is a picture of me:

So what do you guys think? Which brand of dye should I use? Would red or purple suit me? Plus I want a dye that's not too expensive. Also, how can I maintain my hair?

Is bleaching my hair required? (Oh and i have dyed my hair before but that's just a few streaks on my bangs)

Please specify the product your gonna advise.
Thanks!

******************

Well now, these certainly are pointed questions! It would be impossible for me to advise you on which product to choose. The biggest problem is that I don't know what hair colors are sold in Pakistan or where to look for them. I suppose you might find Beauty Supply stores there but I am not sure. Otherwise, I'd look on the internet, but again. I am not sure who ships products to Pakistan.

I think either of these colors would look nice on you but ultimately, you must make that decision for yourself.

The biggest problem is that your hair is so dark to begin with but you also want a very dark color! If you wanted a lighter color, you could possibly lift your hair color a little to achieve this but its impossible for me to speculate on it.

The best thing you can do is to find a hair color you like and try it. Permanent hair colors are exactly what they sound like; permanent. However, purple and red colors are notorious for fading quickly. There is no way to maintain them permanently.

Instead, you will have to maintain your roots by doing a root color as your hair grows in, then refreshing the mid hair shaft and ends occasionally with more color. There is no cheap or inexpensive way to do this I'm afraid, although you might try Henna hair colors. I don't have any experience with them but know they can be stronger colors.

*Word of warning. Once you apply red or purple colors, there is a chance that if you ever decided you don't like it, that you won't be able to remove it without stressing your hair.
