Best Color Make Up for Brunettes with Medium to Dark Skin Tones

The best color make up for brunettes with medium to dark skin tones are a mixed bag of stronger colors.

Brunettes with darker skin tones can get away with wearing dark and bright colors. Because of this, you should not choose mild colors.

Soft colors can wash out your face and make you look pale and unnatural. Bold colors add romantic notes that offset your natural features.

Hair colors can vary for brunettes with darker skin tones. Dark brown hair colors commonly have red and gold highlights. Lighter brown, ash, and very dark brown hair colors may have none at all. If you have them, use them in your color make up choices. You can match your natural colors best by knowing your color season.

Best Make Up Color for Brunettes with Medium to Dark Skin Tone

If you have a medium to dark skin tone, use facial cleansers that help remove your face’s natural oils. Use toners that have stronger salicylic acids in them to help deep clean and shrink your pores and remove hidden dirt and bacteria. Moisturizers you select should be light and water based, especially if you have normal to oily facial skin.

Foundation Colors

Foundations for you should be a good close match to what you were naturally born with. Foundations should blend skin discolorations but not overpower your face. Color make up choices should enhance your natural skin color without smothering it.

Good color choices are buff and golden color make up. If your skin is devoid of red undertones, you can choose beige foundations. They will especially enhance an olive complexion by counteracting your green undertones. If you have naturally beautiful skin, try facial moisturizers with built in color instead. These only add a touch of color and look perfectly natural, which only enhances your clear skin.

If you have dry facial skin, use cream foundations to add more moisture. If you have normal to oily skin, use mineral foundations or liquid foundation.

Lash and Brow Colors

Ladies with darker skin tones typically have darker, thicker lashes and brows naturally. Because of this, you should always shape your brows first, before adding colors. Because you have a darker skin tone, you can get away with most any color of mascara. Black is a standard for all women with darker skin tones, but other colors can shake up your look too. Chocolate browns look alluring as do other bold colors, like blue, green, and purple mascara. Build your lashes by applying several coats of mascara but allow it to dry between applications. Use waterproof mascara for nights out on the town, so your mascara doesn't give you raccoon eyes!

As for your eyebrows, stick with brown color make up pencils that don't make them stand out. Match the same color brown as your natural brow colors. Black eyebrow pencils looks can look too harsh and unnatural, unless you choose to wear them. Always make sure you follow your natural eyebrow shape.

Eyeliner Colors

Ladies with darker skin should think outside the box in their color selections. Just about any eyeliner color will look fantastic on you. Try brown, blue, green, black or purple for a hint of color on your lashes. You might also try and mix them up to create your own trend. Try a liquid black liner along your top lashes with a green pencil liner under your lower lashes.

You can also use a black pencil liner in the rims of your eyes (both top and bottom rims) and line the top with blue or purple liner. You can also match your eye color to your liner choice. Enhance green eyes with darker or brighter green liner color make up. Embolden blue eyes with bright blue liners that match your natural blue eyes. There are no wrong or right answers for you. Use colors that make your feel comfortable and choose the colors you like best!

Apply liners below the bottom lashes and along top lashes to create a sultry mood. Don’t complete both lines along your lashes because that only closes your eyes. You want your eyes to stand out but you don't want to look like a raccoon! If you use liners along the top lashes, only line the bottom third of your outer, lower lashes. Smudge them with your fingertip or use a q-tip, wet or dry.

If you want your eyes to stand out, try either of these two methods. Apply a white liner to the rims of your eyes on both top and bottom. You can also use white eyeliners above your top lashes to brighten up your eyes when you're totally fizzled.

Extend the lines outside your natural eyelashes with your liner color choices.

* The rims of your eyes are above your bottom lashes and below the top lashes.

Eyeshadow Colors

Darker skin tones can get away with a wider variety of eyeshadow colors! Opt for darker more vibrant color make up choices that brighten your natural eye color. Use shades of darker blues, greens, blue greens, pinks, violets, gold shimmers, or even silver. Orange or tawny peach colors also add pizazz so use them.

Of course, everyone with brown hair can use various shades of brown shadows. Plum or magenta colors can also add sizzle to complete your eyes. Experiment with different colors to find the color make up choices that work best for you.

If you buy eyeshadow trios or sets in your favorite shadow colors, you should always apply the medium color all over your eye lids, the darkest color to the crease of your lids, and the lightest color on the inside of your eyes to enhance and highlight your eyes.

Don’t forget too, that you can use shadows to line your eyes too. Elongate your eyes by applying a line of dark color just outside the outer corner of your eyes, above and below the outer lash lines.

Women with brown hair and green eyes should try earthy green shades. Brown-eyed ladies can wear anything from chocolate browns to bright green or brilliant blue color make up. Women with brown hair and blue eyes should play up their blue eyes by using mousy gray, various browns, teals or dark blue colors.

You might also think about using smokey eyeshadows for a smoking hot night! Smokey eyes look great with every eye color. Peel off shadows are a neat trick that makes applying eyeshadow a Caribbean breeze!

Blush Colors

Choosing blush colors for darker hair is a cinch. Peach and pink blush colors are naturally enlightening. Bronzers can also look good in golden or darker shades. Apply them to your cheekbones, the tip of your nose, the center of your chin and the center of your forehead. Bony protrusions on your face is where the sun naturally kisses you. Bronzers especially, will make your skin glow naturally. Don’t forget to remove lines of demarcation with your blush. After you apply it, go over your entire face with a large makeup brush and blend the blush.

Lip Colors

People with darker skin tones can use colors that are bright and bold, or you can use glossy colors in darker shades. Add a lighter lip gloss over darker shades for sizzling appeal. Select lip colors that look best with your own lip color. Neutral colors are great for everyday but brighter shades of pinks, browns, and even orange shade lipsticks will make your lips pop.

Red lipsticks are hot again this year and look great on every woman with brown hair and dark skin. Bright red or pink lipsticks with a blue undertone look fantastic on you, so use them! Use fiery red lipsticks for special occasions to light up the night!

Use these tips to get the best color make up results. Try different makeup colors but don't reinvent the wheel. Darker skin tones need extra lighting up which is what bolder colors can do for you. You learn best over time which colors turn up the heat and give you the sultry results you deserve!
