Chemically Straightened Hair Turned to Straw

I chemically straightened my hair over a month ago and it did dry out my hair a little bit. But last week I went to a salon and had a deep conditioning treatment done, and now it feels even worse and I can barely get a brush through it. After it dries, it feels like coated straw. What happened and how do I fix it?

***********

First thing I'd do, is to call the salon and complain and ask them what the heck they put in your hair! Sounds like whatever conditioning treatment they used on your hair, had way too much protein. When your hair turns to straw like your hair did, there's bound to be protein involved somewhere.

To counteract a high protein product, you will need to use a deep moisturizing treatment in your hair. If the salon won't help you or you don't feel comfortable with them treating your hair again, you'll need to purchase the products yourself. Make sure they're quality products too. (In other words, don't scrimp.) Make sure the products you choose do not contain protein however. Do a couple of treatments and your hair should bounce back!
