Chemical Reaction to Hair Color
(Mrs. Pamela)
I colored my hair with a product that took my hair from a medium brown color to a blond color in one step. Now, I am having a chemical reaction to it. Can you give any advice cause the doctor isn't getting back to me and I'm in pain. Help please!

Oh dear. This certainly isn't good! It certainly sounds like you have a chemical burn on your scalp or you could be having an allergic reaction to the product.
If it's a burn, the first thing (I hope you did) is to flush the area with cool water for about 15 minutes. Then dry with a soft compress and keep the area dry. The best product to use for any burn is called Silvadene Cream. It is usually bought as a prescription but you maybe able to get it from your local pharmacist if you ask for it by name.
If you can't get Silvadene cream, there are other products on the market that treat burns on the skin very well. Ask your pharmacist for his/her advice and treat the areas as quickly as possible.
If you are having an allergic reaction, use Cortisone cream or Benedryl cream on the area(s) and take an oral dose of an antihistamine (like Benedryl) to stop the allergic response in your body.
Its really hard to diagnose you without more information though. If you are having problems breathing, please get to the emergency hospital immediately.
For this very reason, a patch test should be performed before you use any product you haven't ever used and for people who have strong skin sensitivity to chemical products. This is a test you do on a small section of hair prior to using the product. Refer to manufacturer's instructions for more information on patch tests.
Please let me know how your doing when you can!
