How Body Fat Affects Your Weight

Did you know for example that a pound of fat takes up 5 times more space in area, than a pound of muscle. If you lose a pound of fat and gain a pound of muscle, you will still weigh the same but you will be smaller in size! So one of the best ways to lose weight, is to speed up your metabolism so you burn more fat!

Your ideal weight and fat-lean ratio varies considerably for men and women and with age. The minimum percentage of body fat considered safe for good health is 5 percent for males and 12 percent for females. The average adult body fat is closer to 15-18 percent for men and 22-25 percent for women. Too much body fat is harmful to your health. Men with over 25 percent fat and women with over 32 percent fat pose a much higher risk for illness and disease. That said, it's easy to understand why it's important to burn fat and take off the extra pounds.

To assist you, there are many foods which actually have no calories, called negative or zero calorie foods. When you consume these foods regularly, you will actually be helping to burn off the fat in your body more rapidly. Of course, extra weight's not going to disappear overnight but in the long term, you'll notice a marked difference... as long as you continue to include them everyday!

No calorie foods can be used by anyone and incorporated into any well rounded diet. Every smart farmer knows that there are certain foods which actually burn more fat than the caloric content of the food itself, so they avoid feeding these foods to their farm animals, which are sold by weight! The foods that farmers avoid, are exactly the type of foods that humans should consume more of!

However, studies also reveal that it's NOT the calcium that helps to reduce the fat, regardless what you've been told. Dairy products far out-performed calcium supplements in weight loss controlled studies.

    To get the maximum benefits from consuming zero calorie foods, you should add some exercise to your schedule. They should be done for periods of no less than 20 to 30 minutes. Your pulse-rate should increase to nearly 100 beats per minute, and you should form a light sweat. This indicates that you are increasing your metabolism and helping you to burn fat.

    Consuming no calorie foods will have a more positive effect on weight loss efforts which help you slim down and speed up your metabolism. In fact, when you exercise more frequently AND include these foods in your diet regularly, you will continue to burn fat even after you've finished exercising. How great is that? This process has a cumulative effect on your body's ability to break down fat and convert it to energy.

    Remember too, that it's a law of physics that you CANNOT shed pounds unless you burn more calories than you take in. The best approach is to consume more fat-burning foods and to wake up your body by exercising more.

    You also won't lose weight if you eat lots of food that already prepared for you. These pre-made foods are pure junk in your trunk! Opt instead for more of the foods listed above that contain a plethora of nutrients that help burn fat!
