Bleaching Orange Hair

Before I bleached my hair it was a very dark brown. Last night I bleached it and it turned orange, but my roots were very very blonde. I was told that it would help to try and bleach it again. So I did, which did not work! Now my hair is still orange and very fried. I'm thinking I just need to go back to a brown and never try that again. My question: Is that the right thing to do?

No. Bleached hair is very porous and will absorb any color you apply to it very quickly. If you try a dark brown color, your hair may very well turn black. You'd do well to use a semi permanent hair color in a lighter shade of brown, just to be on the safe side.
With that said, you'll need to correct your hair porosity before applying color.

Since your hair is so fried and because you've tried to fix this yourself unsuccessfully, I suggest that you seek professional help.
