Beware of Chase Bank!!!

I opened my credit card account almost 10 years ago with Providian then Wamu took over and Chase. I have NEVER been late on a payment and ALWAYS pay more than the minimum.
Last month I went over my limit by $8 and received a $39 fee for it. I understand and made no fuss about paying it. Last week I received a letter advising me that my interest rate will be increased from 15% to an outrageous 30% in January. I called 3 different times and spoke with everyone I could about stopping the increase as it was a small error and I have always been a loyal client. All I got was thank you for being a great customer but there is nothing we can do.
This is just plain wrong and can't believe the way they have handled my situation. I will NEVER deal with Chase again and will make sure to tell as many people as I can about this outrageous behavior. I will stick with Capitol One from now on as they have always been great to me even when I did make an error...
CHASE BANK SHOULD BE ASHAMED OF THEMSELVES!!!
***************************
Holy Cow! The sheer audacity of these banks (especially Chase Bank!) is outrageous! I hope you cut that credit card up into bits and pieces. Pay it off as soon as you can. Did you ask them to waive your fee? I got a fee recently for paying late and called them and got it reversed because of good behavior in the past. (Not paying late...) Of course, in the freaky ways the banks look at things, these things may be totally different. I've never gone over my limit before, thankfully.
I recently made a purchase from a popular site/store and at the end of the purchase, Chase bank is now requiring that you fill out a separate form to be
Verified by Chase. Huh? Since when do I have to verify my own card a second time? The page said it was for my own security but they asked me for things that didn't apply in my view. This is totally new!
Another thing I just heard is that all banks are about to see how much they can get away with. If you've haven't had an annual fee, they are going to try and 'slip' one in on us! They want to see how many people complain about it before they 'nix' the charge.
What I got out of the information, was that this is what banks are doing to offset losses. If they don't get many calls, they will keep the fee and be able to pay for their expensive homes in the Carribean that they bought before
the economy went south. (Pun intended!)
Huh?
This is absurd, with a capital WTF! It makes me so mad my hair is steaming! We are all just sheep in their herds and they don't give a flipping heck about us!
