Bad Home Hair Experience

I'm a teen and I have just one thing to say... NEVER tell parents that are broke or CHEAP that you need to get your hair done!!!
I've gone to this stylist who does my Brazilian Keratin straightening and trims the ends of my hair for a few years now. She does an AMAZING JOB and for a great price too! So, she moved across town and I needed to get my hair done again.
There was this lady who we know and she had been trying to talk my parents into letting her do my hair. She offered to do the same thing the other lady did for less and she comes to your house to do it. My dad didn't want to drive across town to take me to my usual stylist and my mom liked the lady so they were like "just give her a try and if i didn't like her they'll take me to my usual stylist".
I didn't want to use this lady cause i preferred my usual stylist, but I didn't have a choice so I set an appointment. When she came I told her what I wanted, the straightening and a little trim. She took twice as long to do the straightening treatment as my regular stylist and my hair felt dull and dirty, which wasn't what it should look like!
Then she did the trim, she said "your hair is very uneven" and she wanted to cut it short! I said no, just TRIM!!! Well, she trimmed the back part OK than when she got to the front she started to take more off. (Keep in mind, we were in the kitchen and there was NO mirror to see what was happening.) She cut more and more, then she cut my bangs that were almost touching my shoulders up to my chin... then she cut more off <:*!
I looked in the mirror to see the horror! My hair was long before and one length and I had long bangs and it looked great. Now, it was really short and layered in the front and the back was long, my bangs were chin length, than the front part cut into layers.
I was furious cause I NEVER EVER said anything about wanting layers in my hair!!! UUUGGHHH! It looked like an outgrown mullet!
I didn't want to hurt the lady's feelings so I just said thanks and she left but I cried for 2 days over the cut. My mom was upset too over how the lady messed my hair, plus when I washed my hair, it was the same as before I had it done, so the straightening stuff the lady used didn't work. My mom cut the back part of my hair so it would match the shorter layers and be the same length so its better looking now, but the front is still too short and I have thick hair so it POOFS!
We called the lady and complained and she felt bad and offered a refund, but my dad told her to keep the money since she drove a long way and worked for so long.
Now I'm broke and I don't have any money to have my hair fixed by my usual stylist :(.

That's a bad experience sweetheart but fortunately, hair grows back! Most of the time in this life, you get what you pay for... Its a lesson that most of us have to learn over and over, most of the time.
In your lifetime, you'll get more
bad haircuts and services. One key to preventing them is to first have the money to pay for the services you want:o)
and to know thy stylist!
