Bad Haircut for Fine Thin Hair

I have fine, thin hair- always have- so it's important I have blunt cuts. I went to Carmen & Carmen salon in Charlotte, NC and asked to have my hair trimmed. I told the hair technician I DID NOT want point cut layers since it only makes my hair look even thinner than it is. I didn't realize until her instructor came up to give her direction that she was actually a student!! He took the scissors out of her hands and started showing how best to cut my hair. It was difficult to tell until it was too late but he cut my hair in point cut layers which ended up looking terrible. He never even asked what I was looking for and the student said afterwards she was too afraid to re-direct him even thought she knew he was doing exactly what I didn't want. It looked horrible and due to the thin point cuts, ended up breaking off and looking even worse. What a horrible example he set for his student. Needless to say I never went back. What an idiot.

Gosh lady! Hate that this happened to you! There is no telling what will happen when you sit in 'the chair'! Even good hairdressers have bad days, and you're never guaranteed of getting the exact same cut each time. After all, not two cuts are just alike!

Sounds like the instructor was having one of those bad days! For an instructor to come over and show a student a bad haircut, sets a bad precedent all the way around. That's one reason I encourage you to learn how to cut your own hair. As long as your hair is not super short, I teach you how to do a blunt cut on yourself with minimal effort. The only real thing you need is a good pair of scissors. You can use them over and over again, so its a cost effective buy! You have much more hair potential when you take your hair into your own hands!

At least if you mess it up, you will be the one responsible. I don't know of one woman, who hasn't messed up their own hair. It happens all the time! What happens next? You grow it out again and you learn from past mistakes. Cutting your own hair is challenging, but so is sitting in 'the chair'! Buyer Beware!
