Bad Hair Trim

One Day I wanted to get my hair cut and then dyed...(I never got it dyed until half a year later.)

I went to Great Clips. Now I normally would not
go to such a low life hair place but moneys hard to get at times. haaha. I was only 13 yrs old at the time.

I was just a normal kid wanting to come in
for a simple task thinking that if was going to come out just, Fine. well it didn't!

I went in..and before I knew it I was in the chair..this lady who helped me seemed new.. (she was more like 20 yrs old of something!?) and she seemed a whole not the brightest person! I mean I felt like I was tons smarter than her. Geez.

So I got my side swept bangs trimmed. It was a long process for her.. but easy for all the other people I have had trim my bangs. (If not I trim them myself^_^)

Then she asked "do you want a trim on your hair too?" and I said "sure but not alot ...maybe a inch"

Everybody knows that a inch is not that big. haha So she showed how big a inch *with her fingers* she thought a inch was. My hair was pretty, and long it was below my breasts and then I said "yeah i think 2 inches would be fine.(:"
(BY THE WAY, SHE WASN'T VERY NICE AND BARELY TALKED.)

Anyways...
So she was cutting and cutting..
SOON, it became 4 inches off! Now i asked for 2inches. THIS WAS DOUBLE THE AMOUNT!
If it was 2inches it would have been in the middle of my breast. But this was shorter than that! My hair was almost to the top of my breast. I started out below but now my hair is almost above! WTF!

I was so mad/scared/heart attack sad!
After i saw.. i said "oh! wow... that's alot -__-".


And she said "Well its 2 inches like you said,
and there's nothing i can do about it now. You said 2 inches."

Her attitude was the worst! She acted after that, like there was nothing she could do now so get over it.

I wanted my hair cut there and dyed
at a salon but after having my hair so short
after being so long. I wanted to wait until it grew back.

I went home and cried. and Cried.
My dad got mad at me crying so much.
Hair doesn't grow so fast, RIGHT?
My mom was just so sad for me..and heartbroken that I was so miserable. So my mom ordered my
dad to go back there the next day and talk to the manager which he did. The manager said that at that place they get 3 strikes. then their out.

My dad asked how many strikes she had? The manager said she couldn't tell him that but told him she had complaints before. The lady who cut my hair had such a snotty attitude!

I will never go back to ANY Great Clips again.
Ever!
And I advise you not too.
Now I'm.. 14 years old my hair has grown back(:
And Yes. I did dye it(:


And I plan on being a Cosmetologist w/
hair and make-up. *when i grow up*

Gosh Noel,

I am sorry this happened to you! What a bad predicament to be in! Kudo's to you for being so bold and writing about your bad experience. It's a shame that hairdressers don't take the time they need to understand a clients full wishes. Even then, half of them cut your hair the way they want to cut it and not the way you asked them too.

That's why it's so important to 'know thy hairdresser'.
