Bad Hair Cut

by Cassie
(Maine)

So it was my 16th birthday (which is actually today) and I figured she would do okay because she went to Cosmetology school. I was okay with my hair but I did need a trim. I sat down in the kitchen and it felt pretty normal at first. Then I started to see hair fly. I asked her what she was doing, that I only wanted an inch or so off. She said that's what she was doing...

She cut off about 4 inches off of the front of my hair next. I freaked out and asked her why she was cutting off so much! She said she had to make it even. I was really scared but I didn't want to make her feel bad nor did I want a half-done haircut. She finished and I looked in the mirror.

My first thought was, "MY GOD! I LOOK LIKE A BOY!" She cut my hair so it was the same as it was, only twice as short and she left the back of it the way it was. Basically, I look like I have a mullet with bangs.

Happy birthday to me. =/

****************

Oh my gosh Cassie! I can only wonder what she was thinking? I can't imagine anyone with training would do such a hack job on you... especially not your own sister!

I wished you had watched my 'trim your own hair' video. You could have done a better job yourself! Mullets are not desirable!

I just don't know what to say or how to tell you to fix it yourself, now that it's been hacked so badly. Could you go to a salon and see if there's anything they can do to help it, without losing too much more hair? (Ask for a consultation first so you and the hairdresser are on the same page about the cut!)

I don't know if this will make you feel better or not, but my own 16th birthday sucked too. I thought it'd be such a cool day, not only cause I was 16, but because I was born on the 16th. I thought it'd be magical somehow. It was anything but!

My boyfriend broke up with me and my mom and dad were sick, so I didn't get a party or a cake. I cried just about all day long.

Hopefully, you were able to muster up some fun for yourself. I hope your days get better from here on out! I do wish you a Happy Birthday sweetheart! (And hope you are doing OK!)
