Bad Hair Color!

So I went to a salon Saturday feb 2008 excited for a new color that would match my root color. I was always a dirty blonde but after having my first child my hair went dark brown. I didn't like it so I dyed my hair blonde over and over again. Maybe 3 or 4 times since 2006. I wanted a change and because Im getting married in July I wanted one color instead of 3. So I went to the salon asking for them to color it the color of my roots maybe a tad bit darker. She colored it red, started blowing drying it and realized the color was off. So, she went and got another color set and started coloring it on top of the messed up one while wet and my hair came out black/burgundy.
My skin is pure white. I'm so light I look like a ghost with this new hair. I'm going back tomorrow, Thursday to have it fixed. Lightened and the tint taken away I hope. I also feel like asking for a partial refund. I feel like the woman who did my hair was unprofessional.
Be careful when going to get your hair done.

I am so sorry this happened to you lady! At least hopefully, you can get it fixed right before you get married! (congrats on that too!) Burgundy is one of the hardest colors to remove once you have it, so bless your heart. Problem is that they will probably have to use a color remover on your hair to get it out, and these can be VERY harsh and possibly end up really damaging it.
Even if you don't
color your own hair, you should at least know the basics and learn about colors and what they do before you color your hair. (that way you can ask what the end result of the colors she uses will be! and know if she is right or not.) Ask your hairdresser how long she's been doing color. Be prepared to show him/her pictures of what you want. Use
virtual tools before you get your hair done, so you don't mess up the real thing!
Oh, one other hint. If you had three colors existing in your hair, there is no way to get it all one color with just one application of color. Each existing color in your hair will be affected differently by any color that's used, therefore giving you three different results. (unless they use a very dark hair color) Your hairdresser should have told you this. The MOST you can hope for is a more uniform color.
