Bad Hair Color or Bad Haircut? - Your All Time Worst Salon Experience
Everyone has had a bad hair day, but have you ever had a bad haircut, bad hair color, or bad perm at a salon? Before I became a licensed Cosmetologist, I know I did!
It's one of the main reasons I became a hairdresser too! I got tired of having my hair screwed up! I was terrified of someone cutting my hair shorter than I wanted but I also had a few bad hair colors that left me with a really BAD impression!
What's your all time worst salon experience?
The worst salon hair color experience I ever had, was when I decided I wanted very light blonde hair. I was born with dark brown hair but somehow I got it in my head that my life would be better if I had blonde hair instead. After all, blonde’s have more fun! RIGHT?
So I made an appointment at a local salon and went in for my appointment. As it turned out, my hairdresser had to do a double process color to get my hair blonde. When it was done, it not only looked bad on me, but the double process fried my hair too! Blonde is not your friend if you’ve got dark brown hair! (At least not all over color!) If you have dark hair, your complexion is best with a dark hair color. There are very few dark haired people who look good with light hair.
The worst part of it (for me) was that the hairdresser never said, "I don’t think that blonde hair will look right on you Carolyn!. Maybe we should just do blonde highlights, instead".
Blonde highlights would have made a lot more sense but this hairdresser saw $$$$ instead of me, and allowed me to go through a color process that was terribly unhealthy for my hair. I came out looking like crap and then I had to pay him for it!
Geez! The things women wish for!
I remember going home and being so ashamed of the way I looked. I cried for days! How could I have been so stupid! It would’ve been fine if I’d have looked half way decent, but I looked terrible! I felt like hiding from the world.
Thankfully that was over 25 years ago now. The one good thing that came out of it was that a few years later, I decided to become a Cosmetologist. I’ve never looked back.
Have you ever had someone totally screw up your hair too? We all want to know about it!

You can leave out the parts you don't want to share!

You can also upload your own picture if you want! Got a picture of your 'bad hair' or 'just you'? Its all good! If you've got a cut or color that we'd all be interested in, then show em to us. We all learn when we come together!
