Ash Blonde Color on Yellow Blond Hair
by Kadri
Is it okay to color already dyed hair with light ash blonde tones? The blond color in my hair is a yellowish golden color, with some natural color showing in my roots.
I've heard my hair color might turn green, but what if I keep the color on the roots for half an hour and on the rest just of my hair for 5 minutes, since it is a blond color anyway.

You will really need to do a strand test first. Strand tests are easy to do just by mixing a small amount of color and peroxide in the same ratio as recommended by the manufacturer.
Apply the mixture of color to a small strand of hair (underneath preferably) and allow it to process. If it lightens the yellow color and doesn't turn green, then you'll know its safe to use.
This is the only way to know for certain if the color will turn out well or be a strange color.
For ExampleMy hair was a golden blonde color for many years, then I decided I didn't want as many orange/red tones in my hair anymore. I used an ash blonde color over the golden blonde color successfully. Of course, I was using professional L'Oreal color, which has dependable color bases.
If you're going to keep coloring your hair, you really need to stick with top name brands. They are the only ones that will give you dependable results, time and time again. It also helps a lot if you understand the laws of color.
