Restorative Anti Aging Skin Care

Restorative anti aging skin care is more important now than ever before. Why? Because most people are bombarded with toxins on a regular basis, which takes a toll on the way your skin looks and feels! Taking good care of the entire integumentary system does take a bit of time and effort, but with the right products and strategies, it can be a breeze.

The wonderful thing about your skin is that it's one of only two organs in your body that has the ability to repair itself or regenerate if it isn't damaged too badly.

Daily skin care should ideally start before your complexion shows the signs of time! It's never too late to start though! Did you know that your skin is the largest organ of your body? It is the only organ whose surface is exposed to the elements. It is amazingly resilient but disorders can attack your skin. While they are not life threatening, they can make you feel pretty uncomfortable, embarrassed, or self conscious.

Anti Aging Skin Care Basics

  • Your skin is one of the most remarkable organs of your body. It can be taut enough to use as a drum, yet tender enough to feel a gentle loved ones touch. Not only does it protect you, it keeps everything (your organs and other stuff) in your body in place and keeps you warm. For better or worse, your skin is the first thing you see when you look in the mirror. You find out pretty quickly how your skin is faring when you see your reflection everyday.

Unfortunately, your skin takes the brunt of abuse from you, your environment, and the elements. Just like your favorite pair of jeans, your skin is subjected to countless hours of stretching, rubbing, washing, and running around in the sun, wind, and rain.

Just as your jeans fade and become worn out, so does your skin. It wrinkles, sags, thins, bags, crinkles, and fades over time. When the signs of time start showing, the demand for solutions increases. You can put the brakes on time and keep your skin looking younger at any age, if you understand how to transform it.

    layers of the skin image

  • Your skin is made up of two distinctive layers. The epidermis (outer skin) and the dermis (inner skin).

The epidermis layer is a very thin, yet strong layer, being only about as thick as your nails. It is also the first to show signs of aging.

The deeper dermis layer is rich in blood vessels and acts as a liaison between your skin and the stuff below the surface, such as your muscles and fat. It also contains a supportive network of collagen and elastin. Collagen acts like a protein, supporting it and keeping your skin in place. Elastin provides the elasticity that allows skin to 'bounce back'.

The epidermis contains cells that are alive and cells that are dead. The old cells die off and are then replaced by new skin cells. The cells that die off form a protective coat of dead skin cells, which is the visible part of skin. As these layers of cells shed, more are replaced.

  • For the first thirty years, this skin cycle works just fine, and your skin is able to combat the elements and regenerate itself. However, a wide variety of forces, including the environment and aging, interfere with this process. Sun exposure, the pull of gravity, medications, facial expressions, reduced collagen production, the loss of elastin, and muscle weakness cumulatively contribute to the aging process.

You also lose some of the fat padding on your face which not only contributes to wrinkling but causes you to lose a bit of coloring you had when you were younger. Blotchiness and liver spots are visible signs of aging, caused from changes in the pigment of your skin due to repetitive sun exposure.

  • In order to combat the elements and time, you need only arm yourself with the right anti aging skin care weapons which includes items such as dark spot corrector creams. It only takes a few minutes a day to pay attention to your appearance and make some radical changes for the better.

  • Healthy skin starts with a good skin care regimen at an early age. Key antioxidants and proper moisturizing hydration are also key elements of a beautiful complexion.

  • Anti aging skin care begins with the basic skin care products. These staple products start the process of preserving and enhancing your skin!

  • One of the simplest things you can do is to change your attitude. Remind yourself of your positive attributes and focus less on the negative. Be VERY aware of those negative thoughts. They can haunt you if you let them!

Anti aging skin care is all about keeping your skin fresh, renewed, and glowing! If you want your skin to look great, use the links just below to help you take good care of it!

Some people, no matter how old they get, never lose their beauty - they merely move it from their faces into their hearts.
