Allergic Reaction using Mens Facial Hair Color

Is there a permanent hair color for a gray beard and mustache that won't cause an allergic reaction?
I've tried Clairol Natural for Men and Just for Men Beard and Mustache but my face turns red, burns, and swells up. Thank You.

This is a hard question. One I've been thinking about and researching for several days now.
There is obviously an ingredient in these products that is causing your skin's allergic reaction. For that reason, before you try any other color treatment for your mustache or beard, do a patch skin test.

Patch TestMix a very small amount of color according to the directions on the package. Apply the color to an area inside your arm. Wait.
Allow it to remain on your arm for 5 - 10 minutes. If your skin starts to burn or swell, remove it promptly and run your arm under cold water immediately. Apply cold aloe vera gel as needed.
Burning, redness, and/or swelling are a sure sign that you are allergic to one or more of the ingredients in the hair color.

Products you might try are permanent hair color and semi permanent hair color but you'll need to so a patch test prior to use.
Use a brush to apply either type of color and allow to process. Semi permanent colors will only last about 30 days.
Instead of me going into the details, here is a great article written by a man about coloring your mustache or beard using permanent color. These instructions are precise and easy to understand. This also gives you the foundation for applying semi permanent color.
