LGLWSM Newsletter 094 - Is That Good or Bad?
February 27, 2016

Wouldn’t you know! As soon as I kinda bragged last newsletter about how I hadn’t been sick for so long, I got sick last week. Daggone it! This time, my son brought home a bad virus from work and shared with me. I could cream him!

But was that good or bad?

You know, while no one enjoys being sick - it also serves a purpose. I immediately knew that my vitamin D levels were deficient and to increase my intake fast - kinda like setting off an internal alarm. I also knew that being sick helps to reboot the immune system. It’s all part of the human body's remarkable ability to overcome most obstacles by itself. Plus it really gave my gut some much needed downtime. Because I wasn’t hungry, I concentrated on water intake and fluids, which also helps cleanse toxins from the body. So while it was a bummer, it wasn’t the end of the world.

(And that’s how you have to look at life sometimes. There is always a silver lining if you can just find it!)

One thing I've found that reduce inflammation over the course of the long run is a spice called tumeric. (Most people who get a virus are down for at least a week. I am recuperating and have only been sick for 3 days.) There are few better roots on the face of the planet! It has a wide variety of uses, from the master tonic I mentioned recently, to using it in your ordinary dishes. The taste is mild but kinda different for most Americans – almost like curry but not really - so you’ll just have to try it for yourself. (Buy the organic spice if possible.) It’s definitely got an Asian flair. Learn to love it and you’ll reap the rewards. Find out more here.

(If you’re not wild about the flavor, take the supplements. Easy enough right?)

I also wanted to mention that I’ve been taking liquid melatonin - its really helping me sleep more soundly at night and feel refreshed the next day. If it doesn’t work for you, try it in combination with another natural alternative like Valerian root. We're not all made from the same mold. Sometimes you have to do your own detective work to find the right course of action – don’t give up. You can find out more about natural sleeping aids here.

Oh, and P.S.

I posted this page just for fun and because I thought it was really cool. Find out what your breast shape and size have to do with your personality.
