Hi there! I have really thick/curly/wavy/cant-make-up-its-mind hair. I really want to try the 1940's hot roller look that's really in now but im kinda nervous to do it with my thick hair. I've watched some tutorial videos that say to brush out the curls after they've cooled for the softer look. Should I do this step? I'm really afraid my hair will poof and look like a white fro. :-\

No, you can certainly skip this step. Try using your fingers and gently finger through your curls instead. (You can also use a hair pick too.)
That way you won't get poof!
